Oh, you're a Trekkie, too? I just saw it. Was wearing Shalimar Light.

YES! I was more into TNG than the original but I thought this movie was great. :-)

Me too. I also loved Voyager. I had a crush on Captain Picard (oh, still do). He seems like a man who'd wear scent, but somehow I think it would be outlawed on a starship. But, he did like his Earl Grey tea, so we know he likes bergamot.

Vulcans probably don't like perfume because it's emotional, don't you think? But I bet they have good noses.

Julie,

Oh, me too! I have a huge crush on Patrick Stewart. And he would absolutely wear a fragrance (if allowed by the Federation). Yes, given the earl grey I had always imagined he'd smell like bergamot, too :-)

I also watched DS9 and Voyager. I followed DS9 the whole way and Voyager maybe 1/2 way. I never got into the one with the guy from Quantum Leap. Captain Janeway was great.

You're right on - Vulcans would never wear scent, but if you watched DS9, I would bet Bajoran's did (spiritual people).

Klingon's just wreak of their own natural musk of course. And Ferengis would of course wear something that smells rich, like Chanel!

Just saw it. Awesome! You don't think the KLingons would wear MKK?

Abigail said...

Tara,

I don't think the Klingons *need* MKK - they already smell like MKK Extreme :-)

I still haven't seen it :( and I can't wait to (I just have to convince my SF non-loving boyfriend he is going to like it)...

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm really looking forward to it.

What - you didn't wear Red Shirt or Pon Farr? ;-)

Ferengis would wear something that costs a lot, but has no class - what's that scent that comes with gold leaf in it?

Quite right, Klingon natural musk negates the need for any other scent. And probably clears the room, too! I bet they never change their uniforms, either - like a biker's 'originals'.

So, what does Janeway wear? I think Rochas Femme, or perhaps No. 19.

Tania,

Capt. Janeway, hmmm, I think she has two perfumes, one for day and one for evening wear. I like to imagine her day scent as a lovely soft chypre like Yves Saint Laurent Y. Her evening scent could be Rochas Tocade...you put Rochas in my mind already...or maybe even Shalimar ;-)
What do u think?!

Tania said...

Abigail,

Y? Maybe. I haven't tried it yet (my local stores don't have it of course, special trip needed!) I was thinking something more business-like when I said Femme. But now I don't think she needs to make a statement with her perfume, her natural authority is enough. Shalimar for evening? Definitely! That bloke with the face tattoos whose name I always forget would appreciate it.

Now I'm wondering what Seven of Nine wears... ;-) Paco Rabanne Metal? A light dab of WD-40?

Abigail said...

Tania,

Seven of Nine would say, "Perfume is irrelevant. It is inessential to scent one's body."

Maybe I should do a whole post on this. Scenting the Star Trek fleet! :-)

Oh, you MUST find Y. If you like chypres you'll LOVE this.
